The station of La Sambuy is located inside the regional natural park of the Massif des Bauges in the Alps. Its altitude can vary between 1 000 and 2 000 m while offering a rather high chairlift. The latter gives a view on the Mont Blanc and the chain of the Aravis.

The entry in the station is done at the level of the center of Faverges by taking the road of the pass of Tamié. You will arrive directly in the heart of the Bauges massif while admiring the view on the lake of Annecy. The resort is at the same time completed by its famous Nordic domain.

Reminder on the history of the resort

The history of the Sambuy ski resort goes back to 1955 where a refuge was set up. This last one finds a place on the foot of the mountain of La Sambuy which sees the appearance of the first ski lift in 1960. This one is accompanied by a track adapted for this type of sport. Another ski lift was installed in 1962 with a chairlift.

The station is facing a major breakdown of its chairlift in 2013. This caused the evacuation of more than 50 skiers using a hoist. Please note that the resort does not have a single village resort.
