Valmorel is a ski resort, rather positioned at the top of the rangeand located in the valley of the Tarentaisein Savoie. Created in 1976, the station was initiated by the government snow plan of the time, with a newly created village, but respecting the mountain architectural style.

Valmorel is surrounded by mountains from 2500 m to 2800 maltitude. It is located on the territories of Les Avanchers-Valmorel and it has an altitude of 1,320 meters. Thanks to the association ofAigueblanche and La Léchère, Valmorel was built in 1976. In 1988, the resort is detached from these associations and is connected with the commune of Avanchers.
