The station of Ventron is known as « Ermitage Frère Joseph » or « Les Pistes de Ventron ». We are here in the Vosgesin a commune of medium mountainsurrounded by forests and mountain pastures. Note that Ventron borders the Bas-Rhin, and thus theAlsace.

The center of the village of Ventron is located at 640 m d’altitude while the ski resort is at 900 m to 1100 m above sea level and is located 4 km from the city center. Even though it is a modest size, the station offers 9 downhill ski runs very varied, spread out between 870 m and 1110 m of altitude 2 green slopes for beginners, 3 blue slopes for skiers who improve, 3 red slopes and 1 black for good skiers. 7 ski lifts, including a chairlift, serve this ski area.

A Snowparks and a playground are also available in Ventron. But, the practice of snowboard is allowed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays except school vacations. Also, Ventron offers 3 cross-country ski trails : La Futaie 7,5 km, La Ronde Bruche 4km and Les Buttes 1km. There are also 3 circuits snowshoes are also offered: a circuit baby snowshoes of 800 m, and 2 circuits of 2,3 km and 4,2 km.

Émile Leduc, a famous skier, came to settle at the Ermitage Frère Joseph in 1922 and his descendants developed the skiing at the Hermitage with the family business.

Sound descendantThibaut Leduc is looking for new solutions for the ski resort, due to global warming, to build a 5 star hotel, in order to attract a year-round clientele, especially the hikers.
