The territory of Belfort extends from the Planche des Belles Filles to the Ballon d’Alsace, that is 46 km of tracks dedicated to skating and alternative for all levels (1 play area, 2 green, 1 blue, 2 red and 1 black), as well as the site  » 2 Sapins  » of Nordic France which offers a beautiful skiable area to founders for all levels.

An introductory ski area is available on the plateau des Bomb Squad before going down the six slopes of the domain. At the Ballon d’Alsace pass and at the Planche des Belles Filles are the two access doors to the Nordic area.

The Ballon d’Alsace

The balloon ofAlsace contains a winter sports resort, which dates from the early twentieth century and well before the opening of the Alps resorts, the closest to Paris thanks to trains terminating in Giromagny. The Ballon d’Alsace Syndicat Mixte Interdépartemental (SMIBA) gathers the communes local (municipalities, departments and regions), which are affected by the balloon massif; via the company Destination Ballon d’Alsace, it develops and operates the winter sports resort and summer activities. The General Council of the Haut-Rhin has listed the resort among the four sites of departmental interest, to the credit of grants.

There is also the possibility of skiing alpine on 14 ski slopes with facilities (six green slopes, three blue, three red, two black, served by nine lifts and two telecords). The Grand Langenberg run is in fact the longest of the 14 Vosges mountains, the eponymous ski lift allows access to an off-piste area in the middle of an old glacial cirque (notably the Trou de la Chaudière). A French Ski School (ESF) is located here. Alpine ski facilities alpine are not located at the top of the Alsace balloon, but in the Langenberg and Gentiane sectors, linked since the Bruyères ski lift went into service in 2009. A cash desk, a snack area, a gendarmerieThe ESF, the starting point for the slopes, a rental equipment store, restaurants and even a children’s playground are all located at La Gentiane, which has a large parking lot and is served in winter by the « snow bus », operated by the « Destination Ballon d’Alsace » company.

In 2013, the resort was authorized to install snow gunswhich were uncovered in 2014. The water of the lake of Alfeld is used by them. The Alsace balloon also has a large Nordic pole of 46 km of trails, including the only black, which connects the ski resort of Belles Filles to Alsace. Then, the area offers a green run of 1 785 m and a blue run of 4 322 m. It is certified by the Nordic France network.

On the slopes marked It is also possible to practice snowshoeing, as well as skiing, on two areas specially designed for that. There are also two dedicated areas for sledging between the passes of Ballon d’Alsace and Langenberg.

Numerous areas of snow and slopes are available in the Bavarian Oberland, so you can ski or ski joëring. You can also go on dog sledding tours and spend unforgettable vacations on horseback.

La Planche des Belles Filles

At the top, in fact, is a station ski resort which has three ski lifts and four different main slopes : green, black, white. It is the only ski resort in the Haute-Saône department. It has widened its range of summer activities (all-terrain scooter, downhill buoy and accrobranche).

The road passes through the village of Colombey-les-Bains, taking various forest paths to reach the ballon d’Alsace, the col du Querty or even the communes of Lepuix, Auxelles-Hauts, Giromagny and Plancher-les-Mines. Several interesting places can be seen in the vicinity, such as the roche Fendue, the étang des Belles Filles and the Sabot de l’Enfant.

The trails of hiking Marked hiking trails allow you to visit places of historical or natural interest, such as the Laurier Mine Trail, which is a loop at the top of the massif, and the Planche des Belle Filles Interpretation Trail, which allows you to go around the summit.
